Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have signed the contracts for their long-awaited fight.

The promoter revealed that the all-British blockbuster bout is set to take place once Joshua has returned to the ring for a tune-up bout against Albania’s Kristian Prenga in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on July 25.

Hearn posted on Instagram: “Signed, sealed, delivered! AJ v Fury is on!

“The biggest piece of business we’ve ever done but more importantly the one we’ve always wanted. Biggest year of AJ’s career coming up, the comeback is on.”

The Prenga bout will mark Joshua’s return to action for the first time since two of his close friends lost their lives when he was involved in a car accident in Nigeria last December.

The former heavyweight world champion said: “It’s no secret I’ve taken some time to consolidate and rebuild to be ready for stepping back into the ring, and today is the next step on that journey.

“I’m delighted to have agreed a multi-fight deal starting with July 25th in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I’m looking forward to competing and picking up where I left off. The landlord will collect his rent. That is certain.”

Boxing fans have been waiting years to see the British fighters face off and Fury recently suggested that the prospect of fighting his compatriot was the only thing keeping him involved in the sport.

The Gypsy King said after his win over Arslanbek Makhmudov earlier this month: “Let’s get the fight on. Here’s the thing. If it ain’t Anthony Joshua next, I’m not interested in boxing.

“I’ll eat a thousand Easter eggs (and) go up to 35 stone. I’m out. I’m not interested. It’s either him or I’m gone again.

“I’m not interested in up-and-comers, someone trying to prove a point over me, I don’t care. I don’t care about rankings. I don’t care about belts. I only care now about AJ. That’s the defining fight for British boxing.”
