Arsenal have set their sights on England defender Jarell Quansah.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is keen to add to his defensive options for this season and think the Bayer Leverkusen man would be an ideal addition to the squad because he can play at both centre-back and right-back.
Quansah only left England a year ago, departing his boyhood club Liverpool in the summer to move to Germany, and according to Sky Sports, the Bundesliga side are reluctant to sell on the 23-year-old sportsman just yet after an impressive year.
And with four years still on Quansah’s contract, it is likely Arsenal would have to shell out far more than the £30 million Leverkusen paid Liverpool in July 2025.
In addition, Liverpool have a buy-back clause in Quansah’s contract, which is worth around £59.8 million.
Arsenal are still keen to sign Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa but according to Sky Sports New, there is a “big gap in valuation” between the two clubs, with the Birmingham side seeking around £60 million for the 28-year-old defender, who still has two years remaining on his contract.
The Premier League champions are said to have “not indicated a willingness to come close to that valuation” so have been unable to convince Villa to sell the player, who is currently still on his post-World Cup holiday.
