Guy Pepper is excited to test himself against South Africa.

The Bath flanker is getting ready to represent England in the Nations Championship and he’s not feeling daunted about the prosect of playing the world’s top team in their opening game.

He told Rugby World magazine: “The Springboks, having won the last two World Cups, are naturally the top team in world rugby at the minute and definitely the team everyone is trying to chase.

“Their physicality is something I haven’t faced before.

“You come across South African players in Europe and across the Prem, but that physicality is their ultimate superpower.

“To get that opportunity would be amazing.

“With them being number one in the world, it’s really exciting for us to go over to South Africa and try and put our stamp on them.”

After flying to South Africa, England will return home to play Fiji before jetting out to Argentina, and Guy admitted the travel schedule makes for a “brutal” tournament.

He said: “It’s a bit mad, I won’t shy away from that. It’s going to be brutal – a brutal three weeks if I’m involved

“At the same time, it’s also pretty cool. It’s an exciting challenge that we want to grasp.”
