Thomas Frank says that Tottenham are looking to bring in more signings during the January transfer window.
Spurs have already brought in midfielder Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid this month and the manager has confirmed that he hopes to bring in more new faces to help his injury-hit squad, although he stressed that potential arrivals must fit into the club’s long-term plans.
Frank told TNT Sports: “We are 100 per cent in the market.
“I think that when let’s say results are not top and you get injuries, that’s where you can feel you are being pressured to take decisions that you maybe don’t want to take for the future.
“But we need to make good assessments, good analysis, where we are making good decisions that can help us get short-term success, optimise that, but also be very good for the long-term.”
Tottenham fans have vented their anger at the coach amid the club’s poor Premier League form but Frank believes that his team have been unfortunate in recent games.
He said: “I think in the last nine games, yes we lost four of them, but all four we could easily have won I would say.
“But we lose in the last minute, at least one of the draws we had we should have and could have won, maybe two of them. Then things changed.
“The underlying performance has been on an upward trend and that’s what we need to keep pushing, to get over the line with the wins and then things will change.”
Frank accepts that the only way to placate the supporters is by getting positive results.
Speaking ahead of Tottenham’s Champions League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday (28.01.26), he said: “I think it’s about getting results, of course I understand that. I’m not happy with the results, I don’t think anyone else is happy with the results.
“There are a lot of reasons behind it, but what we need to look into is what we can affect, or I can affect, to constantly try to improve.”
