Moises Caicedo is “convinced” that Chelsea will overcome their current struggles.
The Blues are on a run of six defeats in a row in the Premier League but the midfielder thinks that his decision to commit his future to Stamford Bridge until 2033 will ultimately be justified.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Caicedo said: “I believe that with this team, we can do a lot of things together.
“It made me sign a new contract here because I am convinced, although we are not in a very good moment, we will come back and put Chelsea where it belongs.
“I am so convinced I am not going to change, because the only way to do it is believing.”
Caicedo has won the Club World Cup and Conference League since joining Chelsea in 2023 and says that his “dream is to become a Chelsea legend”.
The Ecuador international said: “I want to show them 100 per cent in every game, I want to give everything to them because they deserve, at home and away they are supporting us and that’s important.
“I want to give everything to them. I need to keep working hard, doing everything for this club.”
Calum McFarlane is in interim charge of Chelsea for the rest of a turbulent season that has seen the sackings of Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior respectively earlier this year and Caicedo is pleased to be working with the coach.
He said of McFarlane: “He is trying to help us in every aspect. We are happy to keep working with him and everybody is going to work hard until the end of the season.
“He has been close to us, asking us what we want, how we want to play, that kind of thing helps you to improve and also you can perform better. He has been good in terms of that.”
