Tommy Fleetwood’s equipment guru Adrian Rietveld expects the golfer to win majors before long.

The TaylorMade chief works closely with the world number seven and has every faith that Fleetwood will soon capture one of the four biggest prizes in the sport.

Rietveld told bunkered magazine: “Tommy’s game has evolved to a place where he’s an exceptionally well-rounded golfer. He’s always been extremely talented.

“Tommy has every skill to be at the top of this game. You can see it through his consistency on playing at the most difficult courses in the most difficult conditions each week.

“Think about the desire to win golf tournaments and majors. You’ve got input and you’ve got output. Input would be turning up at the range. There’s a lot of players in what they would do, that would be considered a success. For him, the success is what he does when he’s at those places.

“If he puts in a day’s work, those hours are extremely accountable, in terms of him heading towards his goals. That’s the joy he finds.”

Rietveld continued: “The outcomes, then, are winning the tournaments. Those are the things you can’t control entirely. You can’t control who puts on the Green Jacket, right?

“Eventually, the stars will align when you put in the work that he does.”

Rietveld works on supplying the best possible clubs for Fleetwood and is impressed by the Englishman’s “thorough” approach to golf.

The TaylorMade guru said: “He’s extremely thorough. I think we’re both quite similar in that we are both always looking for that one per cent that is going to make the difference.

“If you think of Team Fleetwood, with Tommy being the CEO, everyone would say that he’s exceptional to work for. You get constant and consistent feedback from him week in, week out.

“He knows his game is constantly evolving week in, week out, which is a very underrated skill.

“He’s always trying to make incremental gains over a period of time. You do that and look back and all of a sudden, you’re number three in the world.”
