The Killers are to headline this year’s UEFA Champions League Final Kick Off Show presented by Pepsi.
The spectacle will take place on May 30th, shortly before the Champions League final kicks off at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary.
Speaking about headlining the hotly-anticipated event, The Killers said: “When we were asked to perform at the UEFA Champions League Final Kick Off Show presented by Pepsi, we said yes without hesitation, some stages speak for themselves.
“We’re honoured to celebrate the incredible teams and players at what will undoubtedly be an epic match.”
The Killers will play their stadium-size anthems at the show, including their world-famous Mr Brightside track.
To announce the iconic show, The Killers feature in a short film alongside former England football captain Sir David Beckham.
In the film, the former footballer and the band are involved in a high-stakes race to the UEFA Champions League final in Budapest.
During a game of pool, the group and Beckham see the official Kick Off Show announcement on a television.
The stars then challenge each other to a “race” to the stadium, with Killers frontman Brandon Flowers jumping into a custom electric blue classic car and Beckham departing on his motorcycle.
The film, titled The Race Begins, pays homage to the anticipation leading up to the biggest match in club football and the way the Pepsi Kick Off Show fuses football and music together to create one night of epic entertainment.
