Tyson Fury will star in a second Netflix show after the streaming service confirmed a new feature-length documentary charting the heavyweight boxer’s rise, struggles and comeback.
Fury previously appeared alongside his wife Paris and their children in the nine-part reality series At Home with the Furys, which was released in 2023.
A second season of that programme has already begun filming.
The new documentary, titled Fury, will take a more serious approach than the first.
In a statement on social media, Netflix said: “Announcing Fury, a definitive feature-length documentary that tells the raw, unfiltered story of one of the most compelling figures in sport and British culture.”
Fury made his professional debut in 2008 aged 20, quickly establishing a reputation as a divisive figure with his flamboyant style and outspoken character.
In November 2015, he defeated Wladimir Klitschko in Düsseldorf to become the unified world heavyweight champion in one of the sport’s biggest upsets.
But behind the scenes, Fury was grappling with mental health problems, depression and substance abuse.
During this period he vacated his titles and saw his weight rise to 30 stone. His absence set the stage for a remarkable comeback.
In 2018, after three warm-up bouts, Fury fought Deontay Wilder for the WBC heavyweight title. The contest ended in a draw, but Fury would later defeat Wilder in February 2020 to claim the belt, before stopping him again in October 2021 in their trilogy bout.
The victories re-established Fury as one of the sport’s biggest names.
His showmanship and candid off-ring persona cemented his popularity with fans worldwide.
In 2023, Fury suffered two defeats to Oleksandr Usyk and announced his retirement in January of this year.
He has since alternated between suggesting a return to boxing and insisting his career is finished, leaving his sporting future uncertain.
