Tyson Fury has responded to renewed allegations from Deontay Wilder – rejecting claims of cheating and references to “white supremacy” by pointing to how he handled defeat elsewhere in his career.

Fury was reacting after Wilder revived accusations about their long-running rivalry during an interview in New York this week.

The two heavyweights fought three times between 2018 and 2021, with their first bout ending in a controversial draw before Tyson won the two rematches by stoppage.

Wilder has previously alleged wrongdoing by Team Fury, including claims of glove tampering, accusations that had appeared to fade until his latest comments.

Speaking to the Ring Magazine, Wilder alleged Tyson was “the biggest cheater in boxing history” and claimed referee Jack Reiss acted with racial bias during their first fight.

Wilder said the handling of Tyson’s dramatic recovery in the 12th round of their 2018 contest was influenced by “white supremacy”.

Tyson declined to directly engage with the accusations and instead referenced his response to recent defeats against Usyk.

Speaking publicly, Fury said: “In my last two fights, I didn’t get the results I was after. Oleksandr got the results over me and fair play to him and his team and everybody around him.

“They were life lessons, in this life you don’t always get what you want or what you think you did enough to get. But that’s where it stays.

“You don’t hear me crying and moaning about it, saying: ‘Oh my god, he cheated’. That’s not me and there’s no point in crying over spilt milk. Oleksandr is a fantastic fighter and person, a god-fearing Christian man who I respect the utmost. We had two brilliant close fights and he got wins in both. We move on.

“It was not supposed to be for me over in Saudi and I was very hurt by that. I asked God why and realised it was his plan and his timing.”

Wilder made his latest claims while sitting down with Derek Chisora, who is scheduled to fight Wilder on 4 April.

Derek has lost three times to Fury but remains on friendly terms with him.

During the discussion, Wilder returned to the first Fury fight and the actions of the referee.

Wilder said: “I don’t know about the third one but, in the first two, he definitely cheated.

“I have proof and evidence of that. When I do my documentary and my movie, it will be presented, all the evidence that I know.

“The man cheated, he is the biggest cheater in boxing history, if you look him up, you will see it.

“And, if I am lying, then sue me for defamation of character.

“Being a black man, with dark skin, makes it harder to believe me than a white man. In the first fight, with the referee, that’s white supremacy. He said he did what he thought was best for boxing, but his job was to count his ass out, he gave him an extra 15 seconds.”
