Rory Darge’s teammates once hid a seagull in a fellow player’s bag.

The Glasgow Warriors flanker refused to reveal who was involved in the prank in his academy days but he admitted it was one of the funniest things he’s ever seen.

Asked the best practical joke he’s witnessed, he told Rugby World magazine: “I can’t name names but when I was an academy lad at Edinburgh, someone put a seagull in somebody’s bag.

“Not the most hygienic thing, but it was good.”

Rory often sees the funny side on the pitch.

He said: “You know what’s always funny? When you’re watching a maul and somebody’s butt comes out.

“And I remember there was this time that Gregor Brown was on all fours throwing up, and his mouthguard came flying out.”

The Scotland international is left cringing when he looks back on footage of him signing for his current club because of his “terrible” haircut.

Discussing his most embarrassing moment, he said: “Maybe all the photos and videos of me when I first signed for Glasgow off the back of Covid a few years ago.

“My haircut was terrible.

“The barbers were shut and I thought it was a good idea to just let it grow out and stay out.”
