Nolberto Solano believes there is more “pressure” on coaches now than ever before.
The former Newcastle United midfielder has made the move into management but most of his stints have only lasted a few months and he thinks it is a tough environment to be able to prove his abilities.
He told World Soccer magazine: “Football has changed at every level.
“When I arrived in England, I was surprised to see managers spending five, six, seven years at a club. That doesn’t happen anymore.
“There is a lot of pressure on coaches to get results.
“When you arrive at a club, the chairman needs to realise what the situation is and give you time.
2I’ve been bouncing between different teams and situations, but unfortunately that’s the way it is. I still believe in myself.”
Solano is currently manager of the Pakistan national side but hopes to return to top flight football in England in the future.
He said: “There are a lot of coaches and ex-footballers like myself around the world, so it’s tough to get a job.
“You have to take any opportunity.
“I’d love to be in the Premier League one day – it’s a dream to be sitting there with so many assistants around me, but I’m here with just my fitness coach.
“That’s part of the challenge. Everything can’t be perfect.
“I have to leave my playing career behind me and prove how good I can be as a head coach.”
