Nani has compared playing for Manchester United to being part of a video game.
The retired winger – who represented the Red Devils from 2007 to 2015 – admitted playing alongside the likes of Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez made the game easier because one of them could always be relied on for a moment of “genius”.
He told FourFourTwo magazine: “It was like a PlayStation game.
“When all of us were on the pitch together, everything became easier because you knew any one of them could produce a moment of genius to change the game.
“Around those stars, football felt simple – all you had to do was give them a good pass and they’d take care of the rest.”
In his first season at the English club, Manchester United won both the Premier League and the Champions League, and Nani hailed the success a “dream come true”.
Asked how the victory felt, he said: “Pure happiness.
“I’ve never lost sight of where I come from, so winning the Premier League and Champions League had even greater meaning for me.
“To do it in my very first season in Manchester was a dream come true.
“I tried to stay humble and remain the same kid – there are values in life that shouldn’t change, no matter how much you win.”
