Marcus Rashford has taken £8.5 million out of his businesses as he prepares to leave Manchester United this summer. Fresh filings detailing significant withdrawals from his image rights and property companies show the 28-year-old forward, currently on loan at FC Barcelona, has drawn £7.5 million from his image rights company, MUCS Enterprises, which now holds £12.6 million in assets, according to the latest paperwork.
He has also taken almost £1 million in cash over the past year from his housing company, MUCS Properties, which currently holds £8.2 million in assets, according to a report in The Sun.
The company oversees 11 investment properties in Manchester.
Rashford’s loan move to Barcelona last summer is set to become a permanent £26 million transfer following an upturn in form.
His departure will save United about £315,000 a week in wages, with other high earners including Casemiro and Jadon Sancho also expected to leave the club.
Rashford has not played for United since December 2024 and lost his No 10 shirt to Matheus Cunha, under former manager Ruben Amorim.
Amorim ordered the England international and other out-of-favour team-mates to report for training separately from the main first-team squad during pre-season before Rashford joined Barcelona in late July.
He is now back in Thomas Tuchel’s England plans ahead of the next World Cup cycle.
Rashford came through United’s academy and made his first-team debut in 2016, scoring twice in the Europa League before netting twice on his Premier League debut days later.
He has since scored more than 130 goals for the club across all competitions and won the FA Cup and League Cup. At international level he has earned more than 50 caps for England, representing his country at European Championships and World Cups.
Off the pitch, Rashford has become known for his campaigning on child food poverty, successfully urging the UK government to extend free school meal provision during the pandemic.
He was appointed an MBE for services to vulnerable children.
His commercial portfolio has grown alongside his football career, with MUCS Enterprises managing his image rights income and MUCS Properties building a portfolio of homes in Manchester.
Rashford’s proposed permanent switch to Barcelona would mark the end of a near decade-long senior association with United, where he emerged as one of the club’s leading academy graduates of the modern era.
