Luke Littler has thanks his fans after receiving his MBE from Prince William.
The 19-year-old darts sensation was honoured at Windsor Castle this week after being included in last summer’s King’s Birthday Honours List for his services to the sport.
He wrote on Instagram: “An amazing day and a proud moment for me and my family.
“Not long ago I was playing in the academy and local pub leagues so to now have an MBE is crazy.
“Wouldn’t be here without all the Support of my family, Sponsors and all of you [fans] so thank you it means a lot.”
The Nuke became an instant star as a 16 year old in the 2023/24 season when he made his debut at Alexandra Palace.
He made it all the way to the final, but lost out to Humphries.
He’s gone from strength to strength, winning the countless titles around the world, and making history as the youngest player ever to lift the world championship at 17 years and 347 days.
In a statement after his MBE was first announced last June, Littler recognised his own impact on darts.
He said: “This is an amazing and unexpected honour but one which I am very grateful for.
“To receive a recognition like this is something I had never thought would be possible and it is a proud moment.
“It’s unbelievable what I’ve done for my sport. I’m happy, my family is happy and I can’t wait to receive it.”
