Luke Littler has praised his “very supportive” girlfriend.
The teenage darts sensation is in a relationship with 19-year-old beautician Faith Millar and he is thankful to have her and his parents around at almost all of his tournaments.
He told Telegraph Sport: “It’s just obviously good to meet someone and grow that relationship.
“She’s very supportive of me. When I’m on the oche, that’s all I need. She has helped. The relationship we’ve got now is very strong and long may it continue.
“My family are very supportive – we go back home and chill.”
The 18-year-old arrows ace thinks it is important not to “over-practise”.
He said: “I don’t over-practise, as soon as I’m warm and I’m ready to go, then I’ll stop practising. Once you’re on the stage, you’re on your own. No one helps you. It’s just you up there.”
Luke is currently focused on winning his second PDC World Championship crown at London’s Alexandra Palace.
He said: “I got asked recently, ‘Would you give every major this year for the worlds?’ and I said, ‘Absolutely’. “
Darts has soared in popularity since Luke, then 16, was beaten by Luke Humphries in the final of the tournament two years ago and his rival admitted he wasn’t prepared for how things have changed.
Humphries said: “I think it has been more than I ever expected; the attention is crazy.
“You get recognised everywhere – I didn’t expect that part after the final with Luke and it is quite extreme. You’ll see this World Championship that it will be the only thing that is on everybody’s mind.”
