Jack Draper will miss the rest of the 2025 season with an arm injury.

The British number one withdrew from the US Open last month with the problem that had troubled him in the lead-up to New York and has confirmed that he will rest for the remainder of the year to allow the injury to heal.

Draper wrote on the social media platform X: “Unfortunately, the injury to my arm is something I have to rest and means I’ll be sitting out the rest of 2025.

“It is very difficult for me to accept as I was building some incredible momentum this year and playing some great stuff.”

The injury brings an early end to what has been a strong year for Draper – in which he was crowned Indian Wells champion and rose to a career-high ranking of world number four.

It also ends his chance of competing at his first ATP Finals, the season-ending event that takes place in Turin in November.

However, Draper is determined to come back stronger in 2026.

He said: “I’ve been through this before and I always come back stronger as I’m so motivated to fulfil my potential as a player.

“Huge thanks to everyone who backs me to do well and supports me on my journey. Can’t wait to get back out there and give it my all.”

Draper suggested last month that he is ready to take on Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, who have swept up the past eight men’s Grand Slam titles between them.

He told the LTA: “Jannik and Carlos are the best two players in the world right now. They are playing tennis which is very exciting to watch; it’s electric.

“There are no holes in their game; they are so consistent and powerful. Mentally, they are both very experienced right now on the big stages, and they are both complete players. Saying that, they can still improve, so it’s really exciting to be around them.

“They are leading the way, but there are players like me who are hungry to go beyond their level and will do anything to get to where they are playing. I’m looking forward to many more matchups with them to come.”
