Derek Chisora’s trilogy fight with Dillian Whyte has reportedly been cancelled.
The upcoming third bout between Del Boy, 41, and The Body Snatcher, 37, was due to take place on December 13 at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena, but boxing journalist Dan Rafael has now claimed the fight is “off”.
Rafael added Chisora would also not fight at all next month, though did not provide a reason why.
It has been speculated that Del Boy may have sustained an injury, which forced him to supposedly cancel the bout – which was being billed as his 50th and final career fight.
Chisora and Whyte previously shared the ring in 2016 and 2018, where The Body Snatcher defeated his opponent by split decisison in the first fight, before knocking out Del Boy in the 11th round of their second.
This comes just after Whyte confirmed he was in negotiations to fight Chisora again after the pair verbally agreed to the bout when they met at the Fabio Wardley vs Joseph Parker fight in London last month.
Whyte told Sky Sports: “We’re not there yet but there’s interest from both sides. Obviously he’s said he’s not happy with the paperwork, none of us are happy with it. There’s lots of things that need to be nailed down and agreed.
“I just want to fight. I’m not getting any younger. This is the best fight for me at the moment.
“I’ve always taken hard fights, I’ve always wanted hard fights, Derek Chisora is no chump. Even if he’s a thousand years old, he’s going to be a worry.”
Whyte – who most recently lost to Moses Itauma, 20, in August – vowed he would beat Chisora for the third time.
He continued: “It’s going to be a complete whitewash, 3-0, that’s all I’m saying. We’ve got a lot of pride. We respect each other. But we don’t particularly like each other. He says a lot of stuff. Then when I say something he takes it personally.
“Derek Chisora’s a bully … I’ve always been someone that spanked bullies my whole life.”
