Cristiano Ronaldo says he is committed to Al-Nassr.
The football legend recently missed two league matches amid a dispute with the club but now says he is committed to the team after netting a brace in Saturday’s (21.02.26) 4-0 win over Al-Hazem that moved them to the top of the Saudi Pro League table.
In an interview with broadcaster Thmanyah, Ronaldo – who was said to be unhappy that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) did not invest in the team – said: “I’m very happy. As I say many times, I belong to Saudi Arabia.
“It’s a country that welcomes very well to me, to my family and friends. I’m happy here, I want to continue here.
“The most important is we keep pushing, we’re there at the top, we don’t know the results of the other opponents. Let’s see, we do our job, win, make pressure and let’s see at the end of the season.
“We are on track, we are back, we are good, we have confidence. I’m very proud.”
Meanwhile, Ronaldo revealed last year that he plans to retire from football “soon”.
The Portuguese icon, 41, expects to bring his glittering career to an end before long and thinks he will “cry” when the time eventually comes.
Asked about retirement, Ronaldo told Piers Morgan Uncensored: “Soon. But I think I will be prepared. It will be tough, of course. It will be difficult? Yes. Probably (I) will cry, yes… I’m (an) open person. (It) will be very, very difficult, yes.
“But Piers, I prepare my future since (the age of) 25, 26, 27 years old, I prepare (for) my future. So I think I will be capable to support that pressure.”
Ronaldo is unsure if anything can match his passion for football but is looking forward to spending more time with his children when he hangs up his boots.
He said: “Nothing will be [able to] compare that the adrenaline that we have for football to score a goal.
“But everything has a beginning, and everything has an end.
“I have other passions. I’m going to have more time for me, I’m going to have more time for my family to raise my kids.
“I want to follow Cristiano Junior because he’s at an age when kids do stupid things. I was the same. Mateo loves football as well.”
