Chris Billam-Smith is “absolutely fine” after being rushed to hospital following his fight against Ryan Rozicki.

The British boxer defeated Rozicki by technical knockout after seven rounds in Zuffa Boxing’s UK debut event, and both fighters were taken to hospital immediately after the bout without speaking to the media.

Both men have since been released and on Sunday (07.06.26), the day after the fight, they posed together at their hotel with their wounds on show.

Billam-Smith wrote on social media: “I have been taken to hospital but it is very precautionary.

“I am absolutely fine, they are just going to do some tests but all is well.

“Thank you for your support tonight. Another unbelievable night.

“Love you all, thank you so much, and see you all soon.”

After the bout, Billam-Smith’s coach Shane McGuin admitted he struggled to watch the fight.

He told Sky Sports: “I’ve never seen a puncher like that. The power that guy [Rozicki] possesses is something else.

“As a friend, as a coach, it was horrible to sit there and watch but he [Billam-Smith] stayed patient, he’s been out the ring for a long time and there was definitely some ring rust but he outlasted an extremely tough man.

“He loves a tear-up no matter where he is but when he’s in the BIC it’s even worse. He had to fight that way, Rozicki was exhausted after a couple of rounds but he kept coming.

“Chris is resilience in abundance. He’s a determined man, a family man and everything you would want in a role model.”
