Charl Schwartzel still watches clips from his 2011 Masters win.

The 41-year-old golfer will celebrate the 15th anniversary of his landmark victory – which came after eight different players held the lead on the final day of play – next month and he still loves to look back on his game, even though the memories remain fresh in his mind.

He told bunkered magazine: “It feels like yesterday.

“I still watch some highlights on YouTube but the memories are fresh.

“There’s a video on YouTube that’s about three hours long – I’ve watched that maybe twice.

“But there are lots of little clips that I would go back to and watch fairly often.

“I go back because, obviously, those swings in that pressure were really good that week.

“I’ll go back and just look at some swing stuff to work on.”

Although Charl has won on six different tours and once ranked sixth in the world, he still thinks he could have done better over the years.

He said: “I definitely feel like I could have won more.

“Sometimes I wish I knew 10 years ago what I know now. Then I would have definitely won more.

“A better understanding of myself and my own game and the way I practise.

“My work ethic now is probably, in a way, a little bit better than it was then.”
