Bryson DeChambeau hopes his YouTube channel continues to grow “like NFL numbers”.
The 32-year-old golfer launched his online outlet in 2020 and has over 2.6 million subscribers, and while he insisted he has “no end goal”, he hopes his sporting videos can inspire and educate people.
He told Today’s Golfer magazine: “There’s no end goal. I’m just going to keep going, grow it as big as possible. And by growing I aim to inspire.
“Look, there’s 70 million golfers who are playing actively, maybe a little more, and there’s maybe 3-5 million people who watch golf each weekend.
“I want to continue to grow it like NFL numbers.
“I know we’re not the NFL, obviously, but if we can continue to move in that direction, that’s really what I’m excited about.
“I don’t know how this whole thing is going to shake out.
“All I want to do is make it entertaining, educating, inspiring, giving people as many opportunities as possible to play this game.
“I’ve invested over $1 million in YouTube, creating a company, and being able to effectively distribute the AdSense revenue and all this extra stuff, it’s what I want to do.”
Bryson hopes he can have a “massive impact” but isn’t worried about trying to “change narratives”.
He said: “You need to create a more important, relevant story.
“How can I impact people more? How can I entertain, educate and inspire, and grow the game more?
“That’s ultimately what I focus on.
“So it’s not about changing narratives or anything, it’s just about continuing to have a massive impact.”
