Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid has denied that Travis Kelce has developed a “dad body”.
The coach explained that tight end Kelce has returned to training in good shape despite concerns about his physical condition after he married pop star Taylor Swift last month.
Reid told NFL network host Jeffri Chadiha: “Well, he came back in good shape. I know everybody’s out there saying he’s got the ‘dad body’ and all this stuff, but he looks the same to me that he’s always looked.”
The coach has been impressed with Kelce’s attitude as he prepares for his 14th NFL season with the Chiefs.
Reid said: “He’s focused in and ready to go and I appreciate that. (He has) been here 14 years and wants to be out there every snap.”
The coach concluded: “He’s gonna play and play hard, aggressive, and not be stopped.”
Reid was one of the guests in attendance at Kelce and Swift’s star-studded wedding in New York City and praised Adam Sandler’s “phenomenal” performance as the ceremony’s officiant.
The three-time Super Bowl-winning coach said of the Happy Gilmore actor: “In a simple, hysterical way, he was phenomenal.
“He’s crazy, but he did a great job in getting them married with a lot of humour. But, that part there I thought, pretty good advice, in its simplest form.”
Reid also revealed the advice that Sandler gave to the couple.
The coach recalled: “He told them, ‘Keep kissing.’ So, in its simplest form, that’s a good thing. It’s hard to argue when you give your wife a kiss, or your wife gives you a kiss. And make sure you do it every day, every minute that you have an opportunity to do it. Knock it out, and you won’t have problems.”
