Members of the public will get the chance to take on Luke Littler in a game of darts for a new Netflix event.

Beat Luke Littler will be aired live on the streamer on October 30 and will see arrows hopefuls take on the two-time PDC world champion for the chance to win £501,000.

Following regional heats in London and Manchester, 20 participants will be whittled down and each will take on the 19-year-old star on the show.

In a video message announcing the event, ‘The Nuke’ said: “Reckon you could beat me in a game of darts? Let’s go.”

A statement from Netflix added: “The rules are simple: one night, one chance, and one perfect leg of 501. If an amateur can defeat darts prodigy Luke Littler, they will walk away with a life-changing £501,000.

“Produced in partnership with the PDC, the governing body behind professional darts, the show will be rooted in the authentic world of competitive darts, bringing the sport’s electric atmosphere live on Netflix.

“To kick off the launch, Netflix has officially opened the nationwide recruitment search to find the 20 competitors brave enough to step up.”

The £501,000 prize money refers to the 501 points that darts players work down from on the board to get to a score of zero.

Anyone over the age of 12 can apply for the series, but a parent or guardian must accompany those under 18 attending open auditions.

The hopefuls are asked a series of questions in the application form, including how long they have been playing darts and why they think they could beat Littler.

Littler was just 16 when he burst into the spotlight with his historic run to the final of the PDC World Championship in 2024.

He has since gone on to win back-to-back world titles and has established himself as the world number one.

Over the weekend, ‘The Nuke’ beat Gerwyn Price to retain his World Matchplay crown in Blackpool with a record tournament average of 111.04.

Littler told Sky Sports: “It’s been a crazy week, one of the best weeks of my life with the darts I’ve played.

“It’s been tough. The stats may look like it’s easy, but when you’re on this stage with how hot it is, it’s not easy.”
