Sean Crocker was always a “natural” at golf.

The DP World Tour winner broke par for the first time at an early age, and not too long after he first started playing.

Discussing when he first played golf, he told Bunkered magazine: “It was at a golf course in southern California. I was 11 or 12.

“The reason I remember is because it used to have a giant statue on the freeway holding a golf club.”

And asked when he first broke par, he added: “Probably when I was 12 or 13. I wasn’t a golfer, I was a baseball player.

“But I was quite a natural at golf, so at least I wasn’t shooting 100s.”

Sean is trying to control his temper on the green, but sometimes can’t help but let his emotions get the better of him.

Asked when he last threw a club, he said: “It was during the British Masters at The Belfry earlier this year.

“I threw a 3-iron into the ground.

“I’ve been working on not getting too angry, but that shot meant a lot.

“Just one of those things.”

Despite his success, the 29-year-old sportsman thinks golf can be “boring”.

He said: “I always have music in my ear, because what we do is quite boring, but I’m now too old for the rap I used to listen to.”
